Our Academic Approach
Language learning at the Centre extends beyond textbooks and conventional classroom instruction. The academic approach is learner-centred, interactive, practical and culturally responsive.
Particular emphasis is placed on the integrated development of the four fundamental language skills:

ਪੰਜਾਬੀ — Punjabi
Systematic training in Gurmukhi script, pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, communication, reading, writing, Punjabi literature and culture.
اُردُو — Urdu
Training in Urdu script, spoken and written communication, grammar, vocabulary, comprehension and exposure to Urdu literature and cultural traditions.
کٲشُر — Kashmiri
Language training focusing on communication, pronunciation, vocabulary, grammatical structures, reading and writing together with Kashmiri literature, folklore and culture.
डोगरी — Dogri
Structured learning of Dogri through speaking, listening, reading and writing, supplemented by the study of literature and the cultural traditions of the Dogra region.

Teaching & Learning

Language Laboratory & Technology-Assisted Learning
Modern technology offers significant opportunities for improving language education. Digital and multimedia resources can support pronunciation practice, listening comprehension, vocabulary development and independent learning.
The Centre encourages the appropriate use of ICT, multimedia resources and digital learning tools as supplements to classroom teaching.
