The Northern Regional Language Centre (NRLC), Patiala, India welcomes learners who are interested in acquiring proficiency in Indian languages and developing a deeper understanding of India’s multilingual and multicultural heritage.

General Eligibility
Candidates seeking admission to a language programme should normally have an appropriate educational background and a genuine interest in language learning.
Applicants should be willing to participate actively in an intensive academic environment involving listening, speaking, reading, writing, classroom interaction and cultural learning.
Where applicable, candidates may also be required to satisfy institutional, professional or programme-specific eligibility requirements.

Educational Qualification
The minimum educational qualification may differ according to the programme being offered.
Candidates should possess the required academic qualification from a recognised Board, University or Institution, as specified in the relevant admission notification.
Where a programme is specifically intended for teachers, educators or other professional categories, appropriate professional qualifications or employment status may also be required.
Language Background
The Centre encourages multilingual learning. Applicants are generally expected to undertake the study of a language that provides them with opportunities to develop additional linguistic competence.
Previous knowledge of the language may or may not be required depending upon whether the programme is offered at the beginner, intermediate or advanced level.
